LifeWave Pain Patch Review: Does the Ice Wave patch really stop pain? What you need to know to get the most results.
Like many people, when I was introduced to LifeWave's patch technology, I was quick to roll my eyes. As soon as I heard LifeWave was a network marketing company I dismissed it. (I had previously been a fan of network marketing, but watching the false claims spread wildly during the covid lockdown turned me sour)
My grandmother introduced our family to them one night and she insisted that there was a "pain patch" that would relieve pain within minutes, if not seconds. (Insert a second eye roll here)
But my kind husband was willing to try them. We'd been married 10 years at this point, the entire time I'd known him he had pain in his neck and shoulders that often resulted numbness in his arm and fingers.
My grandmother placed two patches on his back and within 10 seconds my husband was moving his shoulder in a way I'd never seen before, and exclaiming how much better it felt already.
That was my introduction the Ice Wave patch from LifeWave, watching my husband move his arm in a way he hadn't since I'd known him - within 10-15 seconds of my grandmother placing two round stickers on him.
Me and my family have been using the LifeWave patches for a year now, and we've experimented with all of the LifeWave products. Below, I'm sharing all that I've learned to help you get out of pain using the Ice Wave pain patch from LifeWave.

What are the Ice Wave patches & how do they work?
Ice Wave patches are one of LifeWave's patented phototherapy patches that are designed to decrease pain. Surprisingly, these patches are do not heal an injury and technically speaking, they don't reduce inflammation. And yet, they have an incredible anti-inflammation effect, as a side-effect of the patch.
The Ice Wave patches are a two-patch system that are designed to disburse the pain signal your body is sending to your brain. When your brain stops getting a distress signal, it no longer stresses and sends cortisol to your body, thus, allowing your body to relax and experience less inflammation.
What can I expect wearing the Ice Wave patch?
When placed correctly, you'll experience some relief in seconds. Although the pain signal to your brain is interrupted within moments, it can take several minutes, even an hour for the stress in the body to lessen. When your body has had time to adjust to not being in pain, that is when you'll experience the full effects. Meaning, you'll experience some relief within seconds, but you'll get even greater relief as your body adjusts to not being in pain.
Without pain, you may notice a wider range of movement, you may notice that you breathe easier, you may notice that you're able to focus on tasks better.
Of course, no one can predict exactly what will happen because all bodies and circumstances are different.
How to place the patches
The Ice Wave patches are a two-patch system, in order to work you'll use one tan patch and one right patch. For all over pain and inflammation, follow the Instructions-For-Use (IFU) packet that comes with your order of Ice Wave.
*The patches have two stickers on the back, only remove one sticker when placing the patches as you may want to move the patches around to find the most effective placement. Once you're experiencing the benefits, remove the second sticker and leave the patches in place.*
If you have a specific point of pain, place the tan patch where you the pain is most intense. With the white patch, you want to place it across a joint if possible, and as far away from the tan patch as you can while still experiencing results. If you have a shooting pain (example: my husband's started in his shoulder and went down his arm) try placing the white patch at the end of the shooting pain.
It is worth playing around with the placement. We recommend you rate your pain on a level of 0-10 before placing the patch. If after placing the patch you're only experiencing pain relief of 2 or 3 points, move the patches. You should expect pain relief of at least 4 on a 10 point scale.
Placing the Ice Wave patches is an experimental process. That's why its important to only remove one sticker on the patch until you're sure you have them in the right place.
If you're feeling clueless, try moving the white patch in a clockwork formation, try the 12-3-6-9 positions and see what you notice.
When do I wear the patches?
When you're in pain! For many people it's best to wear them during the day, by the time you go to bed you should have much less inflammation, making it easier to get a restful sleep.
You may notice that with use of the X39 and Aeon patches, you no longer need Ice Wave. I recommend always having some on hand incase of injury, or in case you come across someone in pain.
What if I'm not getting results?
Are you hydrated? Drink more water! In fact, drink a full 8-16oz of water before applying the Ice Wave patch to ensure they work.
Have you left the patches on for days? Eventually the crystalline structure that creates the phototherapy effect will melt down, the patches don't last forever. If you've been wearing the patches for days, remove them and put on a fresh set.
Try moving them. Sometimes the patches actually are working, but when one painful spot is relieved (let's say your hip was hurting at a 9) another less painful spot makes itself known (without the hip being in pain you now notice your knee is hurting at a 6). This moving effect is actually a positive sign! As intense pain is decreased, other injuries may make themself known, meaning your body is trying to get back into balance.
You can try adding another set to the new area in pain, or, if its only slightly painful, try working with it! You've likely been accommodating for an injured body part, if that body part is no longer inflamed, can you walk or move differently? Try it and find out!

Consult your doctor about medication choices. Personally, if I'm not in pain once I'm wearing the Ice Wave patch, I see no reason to take additional medications that are unnecessary.
